Custom Turcite B Cutting Service
Strip is supplied by the roll or cut to the length of each slide before it ships. For a rebuild that means the pieces arrive matched to the drawing, with the treated bonding face still protected until the fitter opens the pack.
What the cutting service covers
Standard supply is 5, 10, 15 or 20 m rolls in widths of 100, 200, 300 and 305 mm. The cutting service reduces those rolls to the finished length of each slide face, so a workshop is not left trimming a long roll on the machine and discarding the offcut.
Because the strip is available in nine thicknesses from 0.8 to 3.2 mm, one order can cover several machines at different stages of a rebuild. Each piece is cut, measured and marked with its thickness and width so it can be matched to the drawing in the workshop.
How to specify a cut order

Why cut before shipping
A roll cut on site is cut with whatever is at hand, and the treated bonding face is exposed to workshop dust while it waits. Cutting at the factory keeps the bonding surface protected until the moment of bonding and removes the trimming step that most often damages the edge of the strip.
Cut pieces also make clamping easier. A strip that is already the right length lies flat on the way without a loose tail lifting under the clamp, which is one of the common causes of a bond line that fails at one end.
What arrives with the order
- Pieces cut to the length specified per slide, marked with thickness and width.
- Two Part Epoxy-Adhesive if ordered with the strip — mixed 2 : 1 by weight.
- Tuschierpaste spotting paste if the finished face will be scraped to contact.
- Grade consistency across the order, so the whole rebuild uses one formulation.
Common questions
- Can I order a width that is not in the standard list?
- OEM and custom sizes are accepted. Send the drawing or the measured width and the quantity, and we confirm what can be produced before quoting.
- Can pieces be cut from different thicknesses in one order?
- Yes. Thickness is decided per machine, so a single order normally contains more than one thickness. List each piece with its thickness, width and length.
- Is cut-to-length more expensive than a full roll?
- It is quoted per order: the pieces you need, in the thicknesses you need, at the lengths you specify. Send the list and we return a quotation rather than a per-metre estimate.
